“Once Jamie Lane’s vocal melody is introduced, you’re hooked. It’s so unique that it honestly takes a minute to fully wrap your head around.” – Thissongissick

Pushing the envelope of contemporary electronic music, Jamie Lane is invested in his vision of creating ethereal and cerebral music. The Gold Coast creative blends his signature sounds and unique vocal filters to compose intelligent ‘hyperpop’ tracks with lyrics that often depict Jamie's trials and tribulations as an artist. With his debut album just over the horizon, Jamie examines these struggles further, as he seeks to create his most ambitious, sonically tantalising sound.

From his infectious debut “Sink”, Jamie has become known for his eccentric sound and his “penchant for the dramatic.” As his initial release went viral, spun nation-wide by tastemakers triple j and gaining over half-a-million streams globally on Spotify, the benchmark was set for Jamie moving into his first big project, his Minimal Haze. This EP placed Jamie in the conversation with his inspirations Flume and Flying Lotus, and saw him sharing the stage with Running Touch and releasing music with French electronic label Kitsuné Musique.

While all this praise was accumulating, Jamie was fighting battles with his creative process, struggling to maintain the purity of art as it crosses the barrier from his imagination into the world. Often writing in isolation, particularly while he was caught up in Melbourne’s hard lockdown in 2020, his struggles were amplified, needing to find an outlet to express his thoughts. Pleroma became that outlet, contextualising this cursed process and exploring themes of primordial images and archetypes that shape our unconscious motivations.

Featuring songs of hope and peace – including Spotify-supported singles “Sanctuary” and “Attune” – and despair and fragility, Pleroma is a reflective and evocative record that documents Jamie’s journey of obsession, perfection, individuation and compromise.
